The Sisson Callahan Trail Shuttle
Are you looking for a big backcountry ride? This is it. Considered one of the best backcountry shuttle options in California it has everything that will challenge you as a rider. 1500 ft ascent with some hike-a-bike past 3 high alpine lakes up into the headwaters of the Upper Sacramento River…. 5000 ft descent with multiple stream crossings, outstanding views, techy rock gardens, fast and flowy sections along the river. Then take a dip Lake Siskiyou at the bottom. The Sisson Callahan Trail is a National Recreation Trail built by miners in the late 1800’s. It is considered a black diamond rated ride for intermediate to advanced riders(see Trails Info for more specifics on the actual trail). Mt Eddy connector is currently closed to bikes. The PCT is closed to bikes as well.

LOGISTICS
Shuttles depart from the Lake Siskiyou Box Canyon Dam Parking Lot on 2400 W.A. Barr Rd near the restroom. Please show up 15 min prior to departure time. Riders will be shuttled to the Deadfall Meadows Trailhead(50 min) and from there ride back to their car at the parking lot at Lake Siskiyou. From start to finish this adventure takes an average of 5 hours and about 2-3 hours of ride time. This is a challenging big mountain high alpine ride that you need to be prepared for with plenty of food, water, and mechanical supplies.
